As Ubunifu grows into our new art center and gains more exposure, we have to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our child participants. Please find below our organization’s stated child protection policies and the best ways you can interact with us to ensure the program thrives!
PARTNER WITH A CHILD
Child Protection Policies:
- For safety reasons, donor involvement should be focused at the Ubunifu art center.
- Per parents request, children are not to leave the Ubunifu premises or visit donors unless written permission has been given by the parents and Ubunifu administration is present.
- Per parents request, children are not to eat outside of Ubunifu premises unless at Ubunifu sponsored events.
- Per administration, please seek permission before photographing the children or the artwork.
- Please do not release full name, health status, or family details to respect the child’s right to privacy.
- Any communication is to be coordinated through Ubunifu administration and not directly with the child or his/her family.
Best Ways to Help Ubunifu:
- Bring your child to an art session – cost is a $25 donation per child
- Classes are Saturdays from 9-11am
- Please contact Ubunifu ahead of time to ensure availability
- Donate to the monthly costs of running the art program – paints, canvas, fabric, threads, needles, paint brushes, yoga classes, musical instruction, workshops, beach cleanups, and more. We have many ways to donate – Mpesa, Paypal, cash, credit card…you name it!
- Sponsor field trips or enrichment activities for the organization as a whole. We love giving the kids new experiences and teaching them about their environment, but we always do it together.
- Bring art and school supplies for the organization, not the child.
